Why is this important?
Because even if your goal is to create something that deviates from the structure, it's often useful to explore the structure itself and then test the limits of it.
Also, as an actor, you are rarely alone in your performance, so testing out your personal limits within the context of interacting with others helps us connect as an ensemble and practice the notion of acting as reacting.
